Designer Kristen Pena believes that every home should be a โ€œmuseum of memoriesโ€ โ€” an inviting space sprinkled with mementos that hold significance. Whether itโ€™s a hand-carved stool from a trip to Tanzania or a ceramic vase from a local artisan, accessories should be happy reminders of the past. And thatโ€™s exactly what she wanted in her own home. In collaboration with CCS Architecture & Interiors and landscape designer Daniel Nolan, Kristen turned a dark, closed-off Victorian into a light-filled sanctuary adorned with treasures from her travels. โ€œI really wanted my house to be a space that was simple in its bones but filled with layers of texture, memory and warmth,โ€ says Kristen, who lives with her husband, Luis, daughters Emmi, 14, and Sadie, 17, and their golden retriever, Willie.
